The peace pilgrimage of Peacebus.com rolls on.
All about we see people stuck in TV land, seeping up fear and calamity. Lots of war talk
on the air waves. Storm clouds gather. The dogs of war bay. And the grass grows by itself.
The Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting has been cancelled due to lack of interest from Commonwealth leaders, British PM Tony Blair in particular. Or so we are told. They, we are told, have bigger things to think about. Such as World War III. Because in Washington, where the pebble struck Goliath is reeling about and calling for vengeance, war is being beaten up.
More TV land stuff, I reckon. More of the official line, more of the stuff the globalist media mill owners want us to believe. More lies.
It doesnt matter me why CHOGM has been cancelled. The fact is it has and STOP CHOGM! was the invocation of the protest organisers right from the start. Could it be the world leaders didnt want to face a peace movement at this time? Does it matter?
Fact is we global justice peaceniks have won the peace in Brisbane on 6 October for the Peoples March for Peace and Justice which can be expected to be a huge turn out of Australians wanting to be visible for peace.
The March will go to Musgrave Park for a rally and a big dance party in the evening, called CHOGM Beats. The local traditional owners, the Jagera people, have declared Musgrave Park a cop free zone. The first demand of the CHOGM Action Network, the central protest organising coalition, to the world leaders that were to have gathered at Brisbane was: "Treaty Now!"
Many had thought the protests would turn violent and Peacebus and crew were going to bear witness for peace and justice for both sides of the police lines.
Now fear has evaporated and, while the need to be visible and to stand up and speak out for peace, has never been more pressing, our mood is optimistic and celebratory, with new banners, new livery and new engine, Peacebus will be going to Brisbane to create a happy crowd. Our aim is to make this a peace movement-building event.
We will invoke the spirits of the ancestors, and all those who went before and stood up and spoke out for peace and justice in times of tyranny and trouble.
May they guide and protect us.
May they give us courage.
May they give us voice.
In Musgrave Park Saturday 6 October, peace will open like a rose and many people participating, and many others watching from afar and many, and many others yet coming after and hearing of it later as legend, will be inspired by this evidence of a global people,s movement for peace and justice.
Be there is the flesh and bring art. Be there in the spirit and send prayers. Pull up a cyber seat and follow our pilgrimage to the March for Peace and Justice and the peace rally in Musgrave Park, Brisbane, Australia 6 October.
May all beings be happy!
Graeme Dunstan.
