Reclaiming the Radical Spirit of Eureka Rebellion 2005

At Bakery Hill Dr Joe Toscano, on behalf of the Anarchist Media Institute, awarded the inaugural Eureka Day Medals to Penny (?) refugee rights organiser and Graeme Dunstan. In turn he receives one.

Standing truly by each other at the Eureka martyrs grave and over it Ken Mansell sang a lament that blew our hearts away, 11.30 am 3 December 2005

Near us Redcoat re-enactors raised the Union Jack at the near by soldiers graves as part of the Peter Tobin Memorial lecture in the Old Ballarat cemetery noon 3 December 2005. We watched in disgust the Mayor Ballarat place his hat over his heart as the Union Jack was raised and saluted with volley of musket shot by the pretend soldiers.

Here the Diggers March arrives in Eureka Park 3 pm 3 December 2005 for the finale of Professor John Molony's narration. It was by Frank Williams of the Eureka Stockade Memorial Association and Cr Steve Jones, bearing the flag. Peacebus.com has put out flags for it.
